What sustains VMCH as an organisation is the engagement and contribution of our staff, our volunteers and our community supporters. We are driven by a desire to celebrate the human spirit and to deliver services that unleash the potential for all people through innovation and inclusion.

There are many ways to support VMCH and your help is vital to the services we provide for the children and adults who access our specialist education, disability, aged care and community services, especially support given via gifts in Wills.

In recent years, gifts in Wills have contributed to our work in a variety of ways. For example

• Relocation of St Paul’s College (specialist school for children with a range of physical and intellectual disabilities (aged 6 to 18) from historic site in Kew to Balwyn.  The new campus encompasses fit for purpose and state of the art facilities and resources that include an Assistive Technology Centre, Sensory Room, specially designed inclusive playgrounds a café and kitchen garden to help senior students develop vocational skills.
• Currum House; our newest Specialist Disability Accommodation in Carrum. Comprising two connected, three bedroom houses designed under new SDA standards to provide residents the opportunity to improve their independent living skills with modern equipment and accessible spaces including sensory gardens.
• Specifically built short-term accommodation house in Ivanhoe for children aged 10 to 15 years. The house has been specially designed with features to support children on the autism spectrum.  Complete with indoor climbing wall, a sensory room featuring a fish tank wall and outdoor space with playground.
• Build up a corpus of funds to facilitate special future projects in aged care specifically to support dementia specific units and palliative care specific homes
