It’s amazing what we can achieve when we put our values into action.

We can bring hope where there is despair. We can bring relief where there is desperation. We can bring joy where there are tears. Through acts of kindness, both great and small, we can transform entire lives.

This is the good work that we do together every day. And like you, the St Vincent de Paul Society Victoria will never stop working to shape a more just and compassionate society.

When we do good in the world, our actions live on. They live on in people we have helped, and in the people, we inspire to help others. This is why we call what our volunteers do in the community everyday our ‘Good Works’.

Across Victoria, the St Vincent de Paul Society’s 13,000+ volunteers are building compassionate communities. They provide practical assistance to help make ends meet by putting food on tables, heating in homes in winter, educating young minds, listening in times of crisis and much, much more.

Every day and night, 365 days of the year, Vinnies as they are affectionately known, is there to offer a caring hand up when people need it most. We do this through our core work around homelessness, food insecurity, cost of living and education.

Our founder, Frederic Ozanam, established an international philanthropic movement that has been helping people for more than 168 years. Like him, you can support future generations of vulnerable Victorians.

As he said, “Let us do without hesitation whatever good lies at our hands”.

You may not be aware but, one of the most important sources of funding for the St Vincent de Paul Society comes from people that have included a gift in their Will. Leaving a legacy for good in your Will is a simple, yet powerful way to help those in need after you are gone.
