Lifeline Australia
Lifeline Australia is a national charity providing all Australians experiencing emotional distress with access to 24 hour crisis support and suicide prevention services. We are committed to empowering Australians to be suicide-safe through connection, compassion, and hope.
- We are here to listen, without passing judgement.
- We believe every life is equally important.
- We are committed to keeping you safe.
Lifeline Australia supports to delivery of service by Lifeline Centres. Lifeline is Australia’s leading suicide prevention service, formed through a partnership between 10,000 committed volunteers, our member centres, of which there are 40 located in communities around the nation and Lifeline Australia.
2021 saw Lifeline have its busiest day ever with more than 3,500 calls received with an average of 3,100 calls every day. That’s one call every 30 seconds! Each call costs Lifeline approx. $39 to answer, with over a million calls made to Lifeline each year.
It is a common misconception that you must be wealthy to leave a gift in your Will. Nothing could be further from the truth. A gift of just 1% will help us come closer to a suicide free Australia. We always recommend that you take care of your family and loved ones first.
The impact your gift will have in helping those in crisis to secure their future is immeasurable. Your gift will save lives and be instrumental in Australia becoming suicide free.
“Today I hit rock bottom and had to ring your service twice. The two people I spoke to were so kind and supportive and helped me through a terrible time. I don’t know what I would have done without Lifeline. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”
