Include a Charity is a campaign made up of over 100 of Australia’s favourite charities covering all different aspects of the community – from medical research, education, the arts, community support, animal welfare and the environment. Our ultimate goal is to work together to encourage more people to leave a gift in their will so we can generate an additional $440 million for the sector by increasing the number of people who leave gifts in their wills to 15% by 2020.
The current campaign launched in 2011 and is a great example of cross sector collaboration. In 2015, Include a Charity joined forces and became part of the Fundraising Institute of Australia which allows us to share operational expenses, align with best practice and focus our funding on community engagement. Using targeted TV, print, online and radio communications we seek to engage the community to ask them to include a charity in their will. We also undertake sector training, research and campaign within the legal community to normalise the question during the will-making process.
Becoming a member of Include a Charity means you’ll be part of a unique campaign whose sole aim is to increase the number of gifts in wills to charities in Australia and is a powerful resource for charitable organisations to improve the effectiveness of their bequest marketing, by increasing efficiencies and saving money.
