The Australian Cancer Research Foundation (ACRF) is dedicated to funding world-class research that has the power to beat cancer. As we receive no government funding, we depend entirely on the generosity of the Australian community. We receive donations in many different forms, but the greatest gift comes from those who include us in their Will.
Every dollar of every donation we receive (100%) goes to research - no donation dollars are used for our marketing or administrative costs. We raise funds for research into ALL types of cancer and we award these funds to the most promising research institutes right across Australia.
Specifically, ACRF funds are used to establish cancer research programs and state-of-the-art equipment and technology. These resources speed up the discovery process - ultimately working to save lives by saving time.
Since its inception in 1984, the ACRF has awarded $79 million in grants to world-class cancer research projects. These include the development of the cervical cancer vaccine (pictured), which since its release in 2006, has changed the lives of women and girls in over 100 countries.
Cancer will affect one in two Australians by the age of 85, but every day brings new light in the fight against this terrible disease. If you would like to support our work please visit our website www.acrf.com.au or phone us on 02 9223 7833.
