What we do
Gifts left in wills form the basis of many charities in Australia. Without these gifts a number of charities would struggle to survive. But while Australia and New Zealand are reported to be the most generous countries in the world, only 7.5% of Australians aged 60 and over actually choose to include a gift to a charity in their will, although that is beginning to change. By helping people understand that they can leave a gift to charity and still consider their loved ones, Include a Charity hopes to make leaving gifts to charities a real option for all Australians.
Using targeted TV, print, online and radio communications we seek to engage the community to ask them to include a charity in their will. We also undertake sector training, research and campaign within the legal community to normalise the question during the will-making process.
